Job summary

Lawrie & Symington is seeking a qualified rural surveyor to lead and grow its Lanark site and surrounding areas. The role requires experience in valuations (RICS Red Book) for lending and tax, letting agent duties, and broader rural land agency including renewables projects.

The successful candidate will be a tenacious self-starter with leadership skills, able to mentor staff and produce detailed reports to deadlines. An attractive remuneration package is on offer.

Qualifications

• Qualified rural surveyor with MRICS and SAAVA or equivalent, RICS Registered Valuer, with rural experience.
• Tenacious self-starter with desire to be a leading valuer in these areas.
• Highly literate, articulate and analytical with ability to produce detailed written reports to deadlines.
• Team leadership qualities with a willingness to work alongside and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Increase property sales across Lanark and surrounding areas.
• Undertake formal RICS Red Book valuations of farms, estates, land and residential properties for lending and tax purposes.
• Cover responsibilities as letting agent.
• Involve all aspects of rural land agency including negotiating renewable energy projects, wayleave and utility projects.
