Job summary

Humanoid is developing world-class humanoid robots and software platforms. We seek a Senior Systems Engineer – Software & Autonomy to define, architect, integrate, and verify the robot’s software stack across perception, localization, AI, and motion planning.

You’ll work with software leads and SMEs to translate needs into verifiable requirements and interfaces, steering cross-team collaboration. This role focuses on the robot’s software & autonomy, not firmware or electronics, and involves

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• 5+ years in systems engineering, robotics software, or autonomous systems.
• Experience with complex software-intensive or cyber-physical systems.
• Ability to define measurable acceptance criteria for complex system behaviours.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills with technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Translate stakeholder needs into clear system and software requirements.
• Define software capabilities to support humanoid robot behaviours and use cases.
• Decompose capabilities across perception, navigation, AI, planning, and controls.
• Develop and maintain architecture of the software and autonomy stack.
• Define interfaces, data ownership, timing, latency, and fault handling.
• Coordinate integration across perception, navigation, AI, controls, and hardware.
• Lead verification strategies for autonomous capabilities and safety considerations.
• Establish operational readiness criteria and test environments.
• Communicate risks and trade-offs to leadership and teams.
• Coach teams in pragmatic systems engineering for iterative robotics development.
