Berkshire Grey in Bedford, United Kingdom, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Robotics, focused on manipulation, to advance our robotic solutions. You will design, develop, and deploy software for real-world tasks and collaborate with hardware teams to scale systems.

You will lead and mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and ensure robust, well-tested software across production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics or Computer Science or closely related field.
• Master's degree in Robotics, CS or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of professional software development in production environments.
• Experience designing and developing motion planning, robotics kinematics and multi-arm coordination.
• Experience with RESTful interfaces and gRPC services/clients is a plus.
• Proficient Python and C++ development with ROS/ROS2 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support advanced robotic manipulation software in production.
• Create high-performance software for motion planning, control strategies, and execution.
• Extend simulation environments to test manipulation development for robustness.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, PMs, and other software teams to integrate capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Clearly communicate priorities and status across teams.
