Job summary

Cellular Origins is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for robotics to develop software for our cell therapy manufacturing platform. You’ll design, build, test and improve software interfacing with mobile robots, factory control and orchestration.

You’ll work with robotics, software and systems teams to turn requirements into reliable solutions, deploy onto hardware, run integration tests, mentor engineers and maintain high-quality software and documentation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering complex software across the development lifecycle.
• High proficiency in Python programming.
• Strong understanding of OO design and backend services integration.
• Experience with distributed systems and messaging.
• Good engineering habits: version control, automated testing, CI.
• Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate across disciplines.
• Genuine interest in robotics and hands-on with hardware.
• Robotics/automation experience including ROS or ROS 2.
• Experience integrating software with hardware and industrial protocols like MQTT.
• Experience with virtualization, containers, cloud services or IoT integration.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of design, architecture, implementation and debugging of software across the robotics platform.
• Integrate software with robots, devices and equipment.
• Develop and run tests on hardware to verify behaviour and diagnose failures.
• Build quality through test-driven development, automated testing, CI and code reviews.
• Mentor colleagues and share technical knowledge.
• Collaborate across disciplines to resolve integration issues and deliver features at a sustainable pace.
• Maintain technical documentation and test evidence for development and regulatory needs.
