Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Senior Hardware Test Engineer to own the test methodology for HMND-01 hardware components and robot subsystems. You will define tests from individual actuators to full robot sequences and champion data-driven quality.

You will work hands-on with prototype bring-up, root-cause analysis, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Ops Quality, and the test automation team to shape testing standards and ensure reliable production readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware test engineering for electromechanical systems.
• Ability to write a test spec that another engineer can execute without follow-up questions.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and GD&T basics.
• Ability to read schematics and reason about power integrity.
• Familiarity with hardware production operations and collaboration with Manufacturing Ops.
• Experience with test and task tracking systems (Jira, X-Ray, TestRail).
• Systems thinking and ability to influence through clear requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define functional, performance, and stress tests for hardware components.
• Design integration tests for robot subsystems and full robot.
• Lead hands-on prototype bring-up and data capture.
• Investigate failures and drive root-cause with hardware engineers.
• Translate tests into automation inputs for the team.
• Define production test requirements for rigs, jigs, and test beds.
• Collaborate on design feedback loops based on test data.
