Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Senior Hardware Test Engineer to own test methodology for HMND‑01 hardware and full humanoid robots. You will design, execute, and optimize tests from component level to full robot assemblies, working closely with the test automation team, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production Ops.

You will lead prototype bring-up, perform failure analysis, and document learnings to ensure traceability and repeatability across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in hardware test engineering, with hands‑on testing of complex electromechanical systems.
• Test Methodology: Strong grasp of test theory, test design, and pass/fail criteria definition.
• Mechanical: Understanding of gears, bearings, actuators, measurement tools, and GD&T basics.
• Electrical: Reading schematics, use of multimeter/oscilloscope, power and signal integrity.
• Production Fluency: Familiarity with hardware production operations, flow and work instructions.
• Tooling: Experience with test and task tracking systems (Jira, X‑Ray, TestRail, or similar).
• Matrix Operating Style: Ability to influence test stations/equipment design via clear requirements.
• Mindset: Systems thinking from components to full-robot behavior.

Responsibilities

• Define functional, performance, and stress tests for components.
• Design integration tests for subsystems (arms, legs, torso, head).
• Define system-level tests for end-to-end robot sequences.
• Prototype bring-up: evaluate new hardware revisions against design intent.
• Investigate failures and perform root-cause analysis with hardware engineers.
• Document test methods, results, and learnings for repeatability.
• Translate test methods into automation specs for the team.
• Specify production rig requirements and acceptance tests.
