Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Senior Hardware Test Engineer to own test methodologies for HMND‑01 hardware and robot subsystems. You will define tests from components to full robots and run hands‑on validation on early prototypes, shaping data capture, tolerances, and acceptance criteria.

You will partner with test automation, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and Supply Chain Quality to drive from EVT toward production, ensuring robust, traceable test results across the line.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware test engineering with hands‑on testing of electromechanical systems.
• Strong grasp of test theory, test design, and pass/fail criteria definition; ability to write a test spec for others to execute.
• Mechanical understanding of gears, bearings, actuators, and GD&T basics.
• Electrical: capable of reading schematics, using a multimeter and oscilloscope, and reasoning about power integrity.
• Production fluency: familiarity with hardware production operations and ability to collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Ops.
• Tooling: experience with test and task tracking systems (Jira, X‑Ray, TestRail).
• Matrix operating style: influence test stations through clear requirements and partnerships.
• Mindset: systems thinking from component to full‑robot behavior.

Responsibilities

• Define component- level, subsystem, and whole-robot test methods with clear criteria and data capture.
• Perform prototype bring-up, characterize performance, and feed findings back to design.
• Investigate failures, perform root‑cause analysis, and verify fixes.
• Document test methods and results for repeatability and trust across the organization.
• Translate manual test methods into automation specifications and define fixtures and instrumentation.
• Define production line test rigs, checks, tolerance, data capture, and sign‑off criteria.
• Ensure traceability by recording results and linking to unit serial numbers in the production database.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Ops Quality to validate tests and acceptance.
