Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Senior Fraud Risk Manager to lead our Financial Crime & Fraud Collective. You’ll drive fraud strategy across UK and EU banking products and partner with cross-functional squads to design and implement robust controls.

You’ll lead a growing team, staying ahead of evolving fraud patterns while delivering scalable risk programs. This role offers equity, incentive awards, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

We’re all about building trust and keeping our community safe while helping Monzo grow. The Financial Crime & Fraud Collective is at the heart of this work. As a Senior Fraud Risk Manager, you’ll lead the charge in keeping fraudsters at bay so our customers can bank with total confidence!

You’ll get to work across current accounts, business banking, international accounts, and more. While you’ll be managing people and programs, you should also be excited to roll up your sleeves and get hands‑on.

We need a crack team of crime fighters to help us stay one step ahead as we continue to grow.

You’ll play a key role by…

Helping to lead our fast‑growing global Fraud & Disputes Risk team and work alongside leaders across our cross‑functional Fraud Squads. We’re looking for a proactive, collaborative leader who really knows fraud risk management inside and out - spanning several of our authorised fraud, unauthorised fraud, first‑party fraud, and disputes specialisms.

Your Core Focus Areas include :

• Fraud Strategy & Operational Execution: Join squad leadership to turn our big‑picture fraud vision into practical roadmaps for our UK and EU Banks. You’ll strike the perfect balance between smart protection controls and a seamless customer experience.
• Control Framework & Fraud SME: Be our go‑to expert on fraud typologies and prevention tools, overseeing end‑to‑end design and rollout of strong controls.
• Threat Intelligence & Performance Analytics: Embed data and threat monitoring to catch new fraud trends early, turning insights into quick control improvements.
• Cross‑Functional Coordination: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Ops to keep initiatives aligned and moving forward.
• People Leadership & Capability Building : Coach, mentor, and grow a fantastic fraud risk team while supporting everyone’s personal and professional development.
