Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team onsite in Templecombe. You will design, analyze, and validate RF circuits and subsystems, supporting integration and performance verification across complex platforms.

The role requires 5+ years in RF engineering, strong tool proficiency (ADS, Microwave Office, PSPICE, MATLAB), and willingness to obtain SC clearance. On-site collaboration with systems and electronics teams is essential for delivery of high‑quality

Qualifications

• Experience developing RF systems within complex programmes.
• Strong understanding of RF architectures and communications.
• Experience supporting RF testing and validation activities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military background.
• Desirable: maritime/naval or defence communications experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF circuits and subsystem architectures.
• Perform RF simulation, modelling, and performance analysis.
• Support test, integration, and verification activities.
• Conduct RF troubleshooting, fault-finding, and performance optimisation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and design artefacts.
• Collaborate with systems, electronics, and programme teams.
