Job summary

Anderson Wright Consulting Ltd is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker for a children’s residential home in Milton Keynes. The role focuses on supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, leading shifts and guiding the care team.

You will work to deliver safe, child-centred care, implement care plans, promote safeguarding, and build trusting relationships with children. A Level 3 Diploma is required and two years' experience; driving licence is needed.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' experience in children's residential care.
• Experience leading shifts or supervising staff.
• Understanding safeguarding legislation and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
• Experience maintaining care plans, risk assessments and records.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts to ensure safe, high-quality, child-centred care.
• Coach and support Residential Support Workers on a day-to-day basis.
• Build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Support care plan implementation, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
• Promote therapeutic, relationship-based approaches and positive behaviour.
• Ensure accurate record keeping in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support children to access education, healthcare, family contact and activities.
• Collaborate with social workers, education providers and healthcare professionals.
