Job summary

Anderson Wright Consulting seeks an experienced Deputy Manager for a children’s residential home in Milton Keynes. You will support the Registered Manager, oversee shifts, and lead a team to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care in line with Ofsted regulations.

You must have at least 2 years in children's residential care, a Level 3 qualification, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, record-keeping and continuous service improvement. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years' experience working within children's residential care.
• Have experience leading a team, including supervising staff, leading shifts and safeguarding.
• Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare for England (or equivalent).
• Have strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
• Have experience completing care plans, risk assessments and maintaining high-quality records.
• Have excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Demonstrate a compassionate, resilient and child-focused approach.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the overall management and leadership of the home.
• Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Residential Support Workers.
• Supervise staff and lead shifts to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
• Promote a nurturing, therapeutic and relationship-based approach to care.
• Ensure safeguarding and the welfare of children remain the highest priority.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments, behaviour support plans and accurate record keeping.
• Monitor quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Support Ofsted inspections, audits and quality assurance processes.
• Build positive relationships with Local Authorities, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
