Job summary

Anderson Wright Consulting is partnering with a respected children's residential provider in Milton Keynes to recruit a Senior Residential Support Worker for a dedicated home. The role leads shifts, supports management, and delivers safe, therapeutic care for children and young people.

Applicants should hold Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) with at least 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) required.
• At least 2 years' experience in a children's residential setting.
• Experience leading shifts or supervising staff is essential.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and related regulations.
• Experience maintaining care plans, risk assessments and records.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
• Coach and guide Residential Support Workers daily.
• Build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Support implementation of care plans, risk and behaviour plans.
• Promote therapeutic, nurture-based, relationship-focused care.
• Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support children's access to education, healthcare and activities.
• Collaborate with social workers, schools and healthcare partners.
• Uphold safeguarding standards and welfare of every child.
• Create a welcoming, homely environment where children thrive.
