Job summary

Young Care Hub in Hemel Hempstead is seeking an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker for our Ofsted registered children's home. This is a senior position on shift, leading the team on the floor and ensuring the home runs safely and consistently.

Salary starts at £30,000 plus £65 per sleep-in, with full-time 37.5 hours per week. The role requires practical residential childcare experience and a willingness to work a 7-day rota, including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential childcare, especially with children
• Senior or lead shift experience preferred
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
• Flexible to work across a 7-day rota, including sleep-ins

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on shift and direct day-to-day running of the home
• Support, guide and role-model for the support worker team
• Maintain safeguarding and care standards and escalate concerns
• Build trusted relationships with young people and support daily routines
• Complete logs, incident records, risk assessments and care plan updates
• Support management with handovers, rotas and running of the home
