Job summary

Candl Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker for a children's home in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. The role focuses on supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and leading a team of Residential Support Workers.

You will work full-time (39 hours per week) on a permanent contract, with pay £16.25-£16.85 per hour plus £62.64 per sleep-in.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Children & Young People, Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• At least 12 months' experience supporting children and young people.
• Previous experience within a children's residential home.
• Experience supporting EBD, SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Confidence supporting colleagues and taking responsibility during shifts.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional boundaries.
• Flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Lead and support Residential Support Workers during shifts.
• Support young people with EBD, challenging behaviour and emotional needs.
• Support daily routines, education, appointments and activities.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive outcomes.
• Complete accurate records, reports, care plans and handovers.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
• Work collaboratively with families, social workers and other professionals.
