Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking senior residential practitioner posts to open and run new in-house children’s homes across the borough. You will safeguard looked after children, apply therapeutic and behavioural approaches and manage rotas to ensure safe support levels.

Responsibilities

• Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of looked after children across the borough
• Apply evidence-based therapeutic and behavioural management approaches
• Manage and adapt rota arrangements to ensure safe levels of support
• Engage in running the home, including activities, meals, personal care, recording, reports and administering medication
• Participate in and audit relevant records and reports
• Provide and promote a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment
• Work systemically and as part of a team to deliver a child-centred service
• Support staff supervision, training and inductions for new staff
• Provide opportunities for children and young people to influence decisions that affect them and the service
