Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a Residential Practitioner within the Children and Young People’s Services directorate. The post focuses on caring for looked after children in a new model of small homes, aiming to step children down to family-based care where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience with residential care or entry to the field.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people.
• Ensure homes meet all standards and legislative requirements.
• Promote a therapeutic approach for children.
• Work with a range of agencies to deliver a joined-up service centred on the child.
• Give children and young people influence over decisions that affect them and their service.
• Contribute to developing standards under the Children’s Home Regulations 2015, aiming for Good or Outstanding.
