Senior Renewable Energy Sales Lead - Solar & Storage

Job summary

Climate17 is partnering with a leading international renewable energy EPC business to hire an experienced Sales Manager for their UK team. You will drive growth across solar and energy storage projects in the UK and Europe, building strong client relationships and coordinating opportunities from initial engagement through to contract signature.

The role demands a commercial mindset, several years in sales and Key Account Management in renewables, and proven tender and bid experience.

Qualifications

• A commercial and/or technical degree qualification or equivalent experience.
• Several years’ experience in sales and Key Account Management.
• Experience working with utilities, IPPs, asset managers, or similar stakeholders.
• Background within the renewable energy sector, ideally solar PV and/or battery storage.
• Experience managing tender and bid processes.
• Strong contract negotiation and commercial management skills.
• Experience in cost calculation and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Analyse market trends, regulatory frameworks, and customer requirements
• Develop and expand relationships with new and existing clients and partners
• Assess client and project pipelines to identify opportunities and priorities
• Evaluate project opportunities and support strategic business development activities
• Manage key client relationships across the project lifecycle
• Lead the acquisition process for large-scale renewable energy projects from initial engagement through to contract signature
• Act as the interface between clients and internal project teams to ensure customer requirements are effectively communicated and delivered
• Oversee preparation of commercial and technical proposals
• Define and review project requirements with project managers and clients
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Construction teams
• Review and manage client-supplied project documentation and data packages
