Job summary

Gerrell & Hard Limited is seeking a Reliability Engineer to own reliability activities for advanced high‑temperature electronic systems. Based in Milton Keynes or Great Yarmouth, or remotely with travel to sites, you will lead reliability testing, failure analysis and design for reliability from concept to production.

You will work with electrical, mechanical, materials, manufacturing and quality teams, apply DFMEA, FMEA and FTA, and use Arrhenius and Weibull analyses to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical/M materials science or related field.
• Significant reliability engineering experience in high-reliability electronics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute reliability test plans for high-temperature electronic hybrids.
• Conduct stress, life testing and failure mode analyses.
• Plan and support ALT and HALT.
• Investigate failure mechanisms: thermal fatigue, electromigration, oxidation.
• Analyze test results and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with labs using thermal chambers and reliability test equipment.
• Lead or contribute to DFMEA, FMEA and FTA.
• Provide reliability input at design reviews and recommend improvements.
• Act as reliability authority within the business.
• Support qualification of materials and components for extreme environments.
• Assess ceramics, adhesives, alloys and electronic components.
• Produce technical reports and presentations on reliability.
• Ensure compliance with MIL-STD and related standards.
• Drive continuous improvement with Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma.
