Job summary

Sky UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the RDK Triage Engineering team to support release cycles for deployed software on CPE devices. This role collaborates with UK, India, and US teams in a hybrid setup and focuses on release quality, triage tooling, and live data monitoring.

You will lead on-time releases, identify root causes, and mentor teammates while embracing Agile practices and cloud/monitoring tech.

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering, debugging, or technical support.
• Experience with Linux and at least one programming language (C, C++, Python).
• Comfort working with networking & video/digital TV concepts (WiFi, broadband, or video technologies a plus).
• Exposure to data analysis or monitoring tools (Elastic, Splunk, Datadog) is a plus.
• Understanding of software development practices, version control, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional and global teams.
• A curious, adaptable mindset - comfortable learning new tools and technologies on the job.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-time, high-quality releases across a large number of devices and manage release quality and triage lifecycle.
• Assess release quality of RDK software with KPIs and field incidents; identify new tools and processes.
• Identify root causes of customer-impacting field issues and guide development toward fixes.
• Monitor BI and telemetry dashboards to catch emerging issues early.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners; contribute to Agile practices.
• Stay current with tools, technologies, and best practices across development, data analysis and cloud platforms.
• Help scope requirements and contribute ideas to improve triage tooling and workflows.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge as you grow.
