Job summary

Fernhill Neurological Centre is recruiting a Senior Rehab Assistant to support adults with complex neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries in achieving greater independence. The role is hands-on and person-centred, focusing on rehabilitation, daily living activities, and social participation.

You will work closely with residents, their families and a multidisciplinary team to follow care plans, promote progress, and encourage active involvement in their goals and activities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working in complex care or a related healthcare setting.
• Good understanding of rehabilitation principles.
• Experience supporting people with complex needs and promoting independence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A compassionate, patient and person-centred approach.
• Ability to encourage and motivate people while respecting their choices and preferences.
• Reliable, proactive and confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities and rehabilitation participation.
• Understand and work towards each resident's goals and needs.
• Follow individual care and rehabilitation plans and promote independence.
• Provide personal care when required and offer emotional support.
• Collaborate with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team.
