Job summary

SGS seeks a Principle Regulatory Advisor - Non-Food to provide technical leadership and regulatory expertise across non-food consumer product categories. The role acts as the key technical authority for the Advisory team, ensuring services stay compliant with current UK, IE and EU legislation.

You will oversee regulatory interpretation, horizon scanning, compliance risk management, and quality assurance while supporting team training, processes, and up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications

• The successful applicant will already be working in a Regulatory affairs or product quality role, and be familiar with UK and EU consumer protection legislation.
• Ability to interpret and apply retailer policy and UK/EU legislation.
• Experience in training and mentoring technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and regulatory expertise across non-food consumer product categories.
• Lead on regulatory interpretation, horizon scanning, and compliance risk management.
• Develop and maintain processes, documentation, and best practice guidance for the Advisory team.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and enforcement agencies for guidance.
• Create, develop and maintain working instructions, crib sheets and checklists.
