Job summary

Places Leisure is seeking a Senior Recreational Assistant at Burgess Hill to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of our centre, with duties that include supervising junior staff, mentoring, and supporting Duty Manager tasks.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, uphold safeguarding and cleanliness standards, and work with our health and wellbeing teams to deliver excellent member experiences.

Qualifications

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) preferred with up-to-date records.
• National Pool Plant qualification would be great but not essential.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Hardworking with initiative and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and efficient operations of the centre and pool.
• Mentor staff and support training and development.
• Assist with duties and duties of Duty Manager as needed.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Recreational Assistant, who is looking to gain experience and take on some Duty Manager duties. You will help ensure the safe and efficient running of your centre. You will maintain a high profile with our customers and operational staff. You will act as a mentor and role model and support the training and development of staff.

You will have excellent communication and social skills as you'll often be the first point of contact for customers. You will have real attention to detail to ensure the safety of our customers as well as the cleanliness of our centre and pool environment. You will be responsible for ensuring our cleaning schedule is adhered to and the preparation of areas and equipment as appropriate, so you'll need to be hard working and have a conscientious attitude underpinned with by your skills in initiative application. Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up to date NPLQ training records. Holding the National Pool Plant qualification would also be great but it is not essential.
