Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Senior Receptionist, with a minimum of one year experience in a receptionist role, to join the Emergency Department team at Whipps Cross University Hospital.
The Emergency Department is a very busy and dynamic working environment. Our highly skilled team of consultants, doctors, nursing and other clinical and support staff work to provide specialist, streamlined care for children and adults with a vast range of conditions. We aim to assess all patients as quickly as possible upon arrival.
The role of Receptionist is vital to the smooth functioning of the department. The team welcomes every patient and ensures they are registered and correctly managed throughout their journey in the department, by working closely with our clinical teams. This role will require work a full 24/7 shift pattern to include day shift, late shifts, nights, weekends and bank holiday working as part of a rotational shift pattern, covering a full 24/7 service.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are self-motivated and who possess a high level of interpersonal skills. Applicants must be capable of working in a demanding environment whilst maintaining attention to detail.
The post-holder will cover reception areas on rotation through the A&E department SDEC and AAU ward.
You will provide a front of house customer service to all our patients, as well as working closely with, and providing an administration service to, our medical, nursing and management staff within the team.
This role is multi-facetted and as a priority provides real-time computer entries on various systems, including admission, discharge, transfer, and ambulance arrivals.
To provide a front of house customer service to all patients, relatives and visitors attending the Emergency Department, Minor Injuries Unit, SDEC, Clinical Decisions Unit, and Acute Assessment Unit.
Support the clinical teams in the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centered care by undertaking a wide range of administrative and clerical duties.
