Job summary

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust (DCHS) is recruiting four Reception Team Leaders across Creswell & Langwith Medical Centre, Ripley Medical Centre, St Lawrence Road Medical Centre and Castle Street Medical Centre. You will support the Deputy Practice Manager and lead the reception team to deliver high-quality patient contact.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education.
• Experience in General Practice Reception/Administration.
• NVQ Level 4 of Management or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day work of the reception team, ensuring effective allocation and timely completion of tasks.
• Support the Deputy Practice Manager with staff recruitment, induction, training, development and retention.
• Promote a professional, inclusive and welcoming experience for all patients and service users.
• Ensure reception staff have appropriate time and support to complete mandatory training.
• Provide regular 1:1s, pastoral support, return-to-work meetings and appraisals for direct reports.
• Monitor and improve patient experience, providing support with access to services, appointment bookings and digital inclusion.
• Ensure the reception team delivers a safe, efficient, responsive and patient-focused service.
• Support the delivery of training for new and existing systems and processes.
• Provide hands-on reception support during periods of exceptional workload, as required.
• Work collaboratively with the Patient Participation Group (PPG) to ensure services remain responsive to patient needs
