Job summary

Amey Ltd is recruiting a Permanent Lead Senior Civil Engineer to join the Structures assessments team (CAFA account) with roles in Liverpool, York, Cardiff or Crawley. Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days in the office weekly.

You will provide technical leadership for rail structure assessment, including bridges, tunnels and related assets, ensuring safety and compliance with Amey and Network Rail standards. The role includes mentoring, client liaison, and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or related subject.
• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng/IEng) or working towards.
• Thorough knowledge of design/analysis software such as Superstress, LUSAS, Tedds, MasterSeries, STAAD, Archie-M, Ring.
• Extensive railway structure inspection, assessment and design experience.
• Experience mentoring staff and developing professional qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and sustainability regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check technical assessment/design remits, calculations, reports and drawings to standards.
• Lead inspections and on-site technical leadership as required.
• Maintain high technical standards per Technical Specification and Amey IMS/HSEQ.
• Provide coaching and feedback to junior staff on drawings, reports and calculations.
• Support training and development for staff to achieve professional qualifications.
• Engage with clients and third parties to maintain strong relationships.
• Ensure CDM and safety requirements are applied in CAFA structures assessments.
• Contribute to cost estimates and delivery to programme, budget, and client requirements.
