Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Section Engineer for a prestigious rail project in the North East of England. The role is long-term and focuses on non-lineside civil works within a railway environment, requiring a proven track record with major infrastructure contractors.

Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring engineers, monitoring delivery against plan, setting out works, maintaining diaries, and coordinating look-ahead programmes. PTS/CSCS and a Civil Engineering degree are essential.

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working for a tier 1 on a large infrastructure project.
  • Rail stations background is advantageous.
  • PTS/CSCS accreditation would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and mentoring assistant, trainee engineers.
  • Monitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods.
  • Ensuring that works are accurately and clearly set out before work commences.
  • Completing daily diary records and ensuring they are maintained by others.
  • Assisting in preparing look-ahead programmes coordinated with the site programme.
  • Identifying, recording and reporting changes to scope or programme.
  • Ensuring testing/sampling of materials is carried out as required by specification.
  • Recording and reporting Non-Conformances and ensuring corrective action.
  • Providing accurate setting out for works before work is programmed to commence.
