Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Project Engineer to support a major UK rail infrastructure programme. You will take engineering responsibility for a defined section, asset or area of construction, working closely with contractors and designers.

The role involves managing technical queries, changes and assurance, with a practical delivery focus during the construction stage. Flexibility on base location and hybrid working with site days will apply.

Qualifications

Experience in civil engineering, rail, highways or major infra construction.
Understanding of technical assurance and engineering change processes.
Strong stakeholder-management and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

Taking engineering responsibility for a defined section, asset or construction area.
Managing technical issues and queries arising during construction.
Responding to short-notice engineering changes and ensuring technical assurance.
Working with contractors, subcontractors and designers to resolve issues.
Challenging proposed solutions when requirements are not met.
Having conversations with contractors and senior stakeholders to resolve issues.
Understanding contractual and commercial implications of technical decisions and changes.
Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and escalating complex issues when required.
