Job summary

Siemens Mobility is recruiting for a technically-led engineer in Poole to own the lifecycle of GSM-R and FRMCS onboard communications. You will drive end-to-end changes, support bids, and liaise with Product Management, Engineering and Production to ensure certification and compliance for EU/UK interoperability.

You will work from the Poole office with some home working, and occasional national/international travel to meet project and regulatory needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with product engineering lifecycle management.
• Ability to create clear, structured technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Engineering and Production.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering lifecycle for GSM-R and FRMCS on-board systems and manage end-to-end changes including BOM updates and design documentation.
• Design and maintain installation kits for cab radio and data radio products.
• Lead technical responses for tenders and compile statements of compliance.
• Contribute to product roadmaps and define key future features with input from across the business.
• Support approvals and certification activities for EU/UK interoperability and external bodies.
• Engage with industry groups to steer FRMCS transition and provide guidance across the business.
