Job summary

Siemens Mobility Limited in Poole is seeking a technically skilled engineer to own the product engineering lifecycle for GSM-R and FRMCS on-board communications. You will support bids, design validation, and approvals while ensuring compliance with EU/UK interoperability standards and collaborating across Sales, Production and IT teams.

The role offers a blend of product lifecycle, certifications, and cross-functional work, with national/international travel as needed.

Qualifications

Experience in product engineering lifecycle management.
Ability to learn 2D/3D CAD tools (AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks).
Proficient MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Oversee engineering lifecycle of core products and ancillary equipment, managing end-to-end change, BOM updates, and documentation.
Design and maintenance of installation kits for cab/data radio products.
Lead development of new solutions for customer tenders and responses.
Contribute to product road maps and create product specifications.
Support approvals and certification for EU/UK interoperability; coordinate with Notified/Approvals Bodies.
Participate in industry groups to guide FRMCS transition and advise across the business.
Collaborate with Software, Hardware, Sales, Accounting, and Production teams to deliver solutions.
