Job summary

Nuclear Transport Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead the Rail category, shaping sourcing strategies and driving compliant, value-driven procurement across a regulatory environment.

You will manage a team of procurement professionals, oversee complex exercises and support bids, ensuring robust contracts and effective supplier relationships. Hybrid working and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience leading procurement activity in regulated, industrial or safety-critical environments.
• Experience designing and running compliant procurement competitions.
• Experience managing, coaching and developing people.
• Strong category-management or strategic-sourcing experience.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects to demanding deadlines.
• Track record holding suppliers and internal stakeholders to account.
• Experience developing and negotiating contractual terms and conditions.
• Strong supplier negotiation and contract-management experience.
• Experience supporting bids, customer proposals or business development activity.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team to deliver compliant, value-adding procurement solutions.
• Manage Rail category and align with strategy.
• Develop sourcing and supply-chain solutions to support bids and delivery.
• Lead complex procurement exercises and act as Tender Assessment Team Chair when needed.
• Review and approve sourcing strategies and contract award recommendations.
• Oversee procurements, contracts and purchase orders up to 500,000 value.
• Ensure procurement complies with legislation, governance and policy.
• Identify commercial and supply-chain risks and mitigate them.
• Negotiate with suppliers and craft contractual terms.
• Ensure contracts deliver commercial and operational outcomes.
• Build relationships across NTS, NDA group and wider market.
• Provide management information and reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Support the wider Commercial function with proposals and opportunities.
• Represent NTS in forums.
• Promote inclusive culture built on respect and continuous improvement.
