Job summary

Kier is seeking a Senior Estimator to drive tendering and cost estimation for railway, aviation, nuclear and defence projects. The role offers remote working with occasional travel to the office, a 40-hour week, and a focus on improving commercial position and delivery alignment.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in construction or civil engineering is required or preferred.
• Professional qualification in construction or civil engineering is desirable.
• Experience as an Estimator with a major civil engineering contractor or as a Senior Estimator with Tier 2 contractors is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process from client documents to handover to delivery teams.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates; present findings at bid reviews.
• Prepare structured items and quantities using measurement methods and contract pricing.
• Collaborate with procurement to develop supply chain strategies and evaluate quotations.
• Identify risks, supervise junior team members and support their development.
