Job summary

Arcadis is a world-leading design, engineering and consultancy firm seeking a Senior Rail Drainage Engineer to join the Rail North West & Central team operating across Yorkshire, Cheshire and Manchester, with the role based in Warrington.

You will lead drainage design packages for rail and infrastructure projects, developing drainage solutions and ensuring high-quality technical outputs, calculations, drawings and reports meet project requirements.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven drainage design experience within infrastructure projects; rail experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in drainage design and hydraulic modelling software.
• Ability to prepare and review technical calculations, drawings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of drainage design packages for rail and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare, review and verify drainage calculations, drawings, reports and technical documentation.
• Develop drainage solutions covering surface water, foul water, SuDS, earthworks drainage and rail/highways drainage.
• Undertake drainage design and modelling using software such as InfoDrainage and CivilStorm.
• Coordinate drainage design with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support approvals and consents submissions to relevant authorities, including LLFAs and Water Authorities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
