Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Rail Drainage Engineer to join the Rail North West team in Warrington. You will lead drainage design across rail and infrastructure projects, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs and delivering complex design packages.

With significant experience in drainage systems and a track record of technical leadership, you will review deliverables, manage design risks, and provide guidance to project teams while engaging with clients and stakeholders to drive excellence.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience in drainage design for rail, infrastructure or related civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of drainage systems including surface water, foul water, SuDS and rail/highway drainage.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage design across rail and infrastructure projects.
• Deliver complex drainage design packages and coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Review, verify and approve calculations, drawings, reports and technical deliverables.
• Lead design reviews and support technical assurance activities.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and project teams.
• Manage design risks, assumptions, technical decisions and engineering issues.
• Support project delivery through engagement with clients, stakeholders and approval authorities.
• Promote technical excellence and continuous improvement.
