Job summary

BAE Systems in Cowes is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to drive systems engineering across a radar-focused programme. You will lead lifecycle processes, decompose requirements, and guide architecture modelling using tools such as Cameo, CATIA Magic or Enterprise Architect.

The role involves shaping system specifications, verification strategies and managing requirements with IBM DOORS Next, while coordinating with cross-functional teams in a challenging defence setting.

Qualifications

Extensive Systems Engineering experience within complex environments.
Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and systems thinking.
Experience with ISO 15288 standards.
Proven experience managing requirements using IBM DOORS Next or similar tools.
Leadership of large-scale system design with Waterfall and Agile lifecycles.
Experience using JIRA for engineering and project management.
Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

Lead Systems Engineering processes across the full lifecycle.
Develop innovative solutions for advanced radar systems.
Conduct system design and trade-off analyses to optimise performance.
Decompose customer requirements into system and subsystem specs.
Manage requirements within IBM DOORS Next.
Produce and review system specifications and documentation.
Lead architecture development and modelling with Cameo, CATIA Magic or Enterprise Architect.
Define integration, verification and validation strategies.
