Job summary

Toshiba Europe Limited's Quantum Technology Centre in Cambridge, UK seeks an Electronics Engineer to develop secure quantum communication products. You will design high-speed analogue and digital circuits, produce schematic designs, BOMs, and multilayer PCB layouts, and work with embedded software teams to bring up and test hardware.

The role requires hands-on design experience with microprocessors, FPGAs or SoCs, excellent debugging skills, and strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in electronic CAD tools, with PCB design and layout.
  • Experience in high-speed digital and analogue circuit design and low-noise power supplies.
  • Hands-on design experience with microprocessor-, FPGA-, or SoC-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Compile requirements and technical specifications for new broadband analogue and digital circuits.
  • Conduct electronic system designs including schematic designs, BOMs and multilayer PCB layouts.
  • Liaise with PCB fabrication and assembly houses.
  • Independently perform board bring-up, debugging, soldering and integration testing with embedded software engineers.
  • Develop test hardware and procedures for development and production.
  • Create high quality documentation and maintain version control.
  • Produce electronic system design portfolios and align designs with firmware/software/mechanical needs.
