Job summary

Catering in Manchester is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Commercial team on a permanent basis, taking responsibility for the Commercial Management of Projects and reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.

You will manage projects and work packages, capture and control costs with design, construction and supply chain colleagues, administer the main contract, and prepare subcontract documents and payment applications.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution.
• Experience in utilities or construction sectors.
• Experience with NEC3/4 contracts.
• Experience managing and developing an individual or small team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake quantity surveying duties in managing projects and work packages.
• Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and control costs.
• Collaborate with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
• Manage the main contract, ensuring contractual notices and correspondence as necessary.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
• Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors.
• Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
• Prepare project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff.
