Job summary

SP Electricity North West is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial and contractual expertise across a range of projects. You will lead post-contract delivery, manage variations and forecasts, and maintain cost controls in line with business objectives.

Collaborating with project managers and procurement colleagues, you will develop budgets, monitor expenditure, and drive continuous improvement while supporting a small team to grow through the organisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying; professional registration preferred.
• Experience in the construction or utilities sector.
• Strong CVR, cost control, and forecasting ability.
• Proficient contract management with NEC/JCT frameworks.
• Excellent numeracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-contract delivery of multiple projects with commercial assurance.
• Identify improvements in contract management; manage variations and changes.
• Forecast and control project expenditure with project managers.
• Provide budget estimates and cost data to support approvals.
• Coordinate with project teams to manage costs, risks and mitigation.
• Lead procurement for non-framework projects; evaluate tenders.
• Coach and develop a small team (1–3 colleagues).
