Job summary

IES Utilities Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to administer and manage contracts across our utility projects. You will lead cost control, valuations and final accounts while supporting operational teams to deliver on-time, on-budget outcomes.

The role covers NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4 ECC) and bespoke agreements, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and shape commercial strategy across Power, Gas, Water and Renewables projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in utilities or infrastructure. Strong cost control and commercial management principles.
• NEC contract knowledge preferred for Quantity Surveyor level.
• Senior level requires significant utilities/infrastructures contract experience and ability to lead client-facing commercial discussions.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage contracts, predominantly NEC (NEC3 / NEC4 ECC) and bespoke contracts.
• Manage contract change control processes, notices, valuations and final accounts.
• Maintain commercial records, produce CVRs, forecasts and cost plans.
• Support and optimise cashflow reporting, minimise WIP and manage subcontractor accounts.
• Work closely with operational leaders and the Finance team to ensure commercial discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide proactive commercial input at project / contract inception, delivery and close-out stages.
