Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Skye 132kV Reinforcement Project in Scotland. The role offers hybrid working with regular site presence and offices in Motherwell, Inverness or Fort Augustus to suit flexibility and project needs.

You will manage costs from inception to final account, ensuring value for money and high governance standards on a nationally significant infrastructure scheme.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Chartered status, or working towards membership of RICS, CIOB or ICES.
• Strong NEC contract administration experience.
• Experience working on major civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Preparing activity schedules, cost plans and tender evaluations.
• Administering NEC contracts, including CENs, EWNs and compensation events.
• Managing subcontractor accounts and supply chain relationships.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• Producing accurate commercial reporting and financial forecasts.
• Supporting procurement activities and contract negotiations.
• Mentoring and developing junior members of the commercial team.
• Working closely with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
