Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Skye 132kV Reinforcement Project in Scotland. The role offers hybrid working with regular site presence and offices in Motherwell, Inverness or Fort Augustus to suit flexibility and project needs.

You will manage costs from inception to final account, ensuring value for money and high governance standards on a nationally significant infrastructure scheme.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Chartered status, or working towards membership of RICS, CIOB or ICES.
  • Strong NEC contract administration experience.
  • Experience working on major civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing others.

Balfour Beatty Power T&D is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of the Skye 132kV Reinforcement Project, a major investment in Scotland's energy network. This is a unique opportunity to combine an exciting career challenge with the chance to work on a project that will leave a lasting legacy for local communities and support the UK's transition to a low-carbon future.

Flexible Location Options: We recognise the importance of flexibility and can offer the opportunity to be based from our offices in Motherwell, Inverness, or our project office in Fort Augustus. Hybrid working arrangements are available; however, this is a project-focused role and regular site presence is essential. We are looking for someone who enjoys being close to the works, building strong relationships with operational teams, and playing an active role in supporting project delivery across this landmark scheme.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the commercial success of the project, managing costs from inception through to final account while ensuring value for money and maintaining the highest standards of quality and governance.
