Job summary

Professional Personnel Management Ltd in Preston is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team and take ownership of the financial management of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects from tender through to final account.

You will work with project managers and subcontractors to maintain cost control, maximise margins and ensure projects meet commercial objectives, with a strong emphasis on procurement, cost reporting and cashflow management.

Qualifications

• Experience managing budgets, cost plans and financial projections.
• Knowledge of procurement, tenders and subcontractor payments.
• Ability to manage variations and final accounts.
• Strong numeracy, analytical ability and commercial focus.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the commercial management of several concurrent fit-out and refurbishment schemes.
• Producing and maintaining budgets, cost plans and financial projections.
• Managing the selection and procurement of subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Preparing tender enquiries, assessing returns and negotiating commercial terms.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, including applications, valuations and payment processes.
• Controlling variations, additional works and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Tracking expenditure, profitability and overall project performance.
• Producing CVRs, financial reports and management information.
• Monitoring cash flow and cost-to-complete forecasts.
