Job summary

Kier Group in Oxford is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Rail team based in Oxford. You will support the Quantity Surveying function on projects, lead commercial activities, and build strong relationships with clients and suppliers to deliver projects safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include managing subcontractor accounts, preparing valuations, and driving profitability through cost control, while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and preparing valuations.
• Strong cost control capabilities and profitability focus.
• Understanding of contract conditions and payment processes.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with teams, clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial activities within the Oxford Station team on allocated projects.
• Maximise quality of service and profitability while ensuring safety and timely delivery.
• Prepare interim valuations, final accounts and monthly applications for payment.
• Maintain project risk register and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support and develop junior surveyors and nurture client/supplier relationships.
