Job summary

Fusion People are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEP to join a major refurbishment and construction programme in Bracknell. You will lead commercial management of MEP works, ensuring cost control, contract compliance and value delivery on a live project.

Working with a skilled project team, you will prepare CVRs, cost-to-complete forecasts, manage cash flow and subcontract accounts, and maintain strong client and supply-chain relationships across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive M&E/MEP commercial management experience.
• Proven cost control, reporting and change management track record.
• Strong procurement and subcontract account management knowledge.
• Experience with CVRs, cost-to-complete forecasts and commercial reporting.
• Experience in live environments such as healthcare or aviation is advantageous.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEP

Location: Bracknell

Salary: £65,000 - £85,000

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEP to join a well-established commercial team delivering a major refurbishment and construction programme within a complex live environment in Bracknell.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the commercial management of MEP works on a high-profile project, ensuring effective cost control, contract compliance and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle. You will work alongside an experienced project team while gaining exposure to challenging and technically demanding works.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of MEP works across the project, including procurement, cost reporting and contract administration.
• Carry out measurement and valuation of works from site records and drawings.
• Prepare and maintain Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Manage project cash flow and maximise commercial performance.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and turnover projections.
• Produce internal valuations, CVRs and subcontract liability reports in line with reporting requirements.
• Procure, negotiate and agree subcontractor and supplier accounts.
• Ensure compliance with JCT Design & Build contractual requirements and internal governance procedures.
• Manage variations, change control and final accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Extensive commercial management experience within an M&E or MEP subcontracting environment.
• Proven track record in cost control, reporting, subcontractor management and change management.
• Strong knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts gained within the M&E sector.
• Experience preparing CVRs, cost-to-complete forecasts and commercial reports.
• Strong understanding of procurement and subcontract account management.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider commercial team.
• Experience working within live operational environments such as healthcare, aviation or similar sectors would be advantageous.

About You

• HNC/HND, Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the M&E or Building Services sector.
• Strong understanding of commercial reporting, project controls and contract administration.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to challenging deadlines.
• Collaborative and proactive approach with strong communication skills.
• Experience delivering complex MEP projects is desirable.
• RICS Chartership, or working towards chartership, is highly desirable.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Full right to work in the UK.
