Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major transmission and distribution infrastructure programme based in Holton St Mary. The role focuses on commercial management across ground investigation, trenching, overhead lines and underground cables, with the project scope expanding as delivery progresses.

You will lead procurement and cost control under NEC Option E, manage the supply chain, monitor budgets and change control, and prepare commercial reports to support

Qualifications

• Significant experience in quantity surveying and commercial management within transmission, distribution, utilities or civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly NEC Option E.
• Experience managing supply chains and subcontractor relationships on major infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to deliver cost control and financial forecasting for large projects.
• Understanding of ground investigation, trenching, overhead line or underground cable works.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider project team.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance from procurement through final account.
• Leading full cost control in NEC Option E.
• Managing and developing the supply chain, including subcontractor procurement.
• Monitoring budgets, forecasts, cash flow, change control and project expenditure.
• Preparing and reviewing applications, payments and compensation events.
• Supporting ground investigation and trenching works, plus overhead lines and underground cables.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, providing suitable mitigation strategies.
• Working closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
