Job summary

United Infrastructure Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor in Warrington to own day-to-day commercial activities on Transmission and Distribution projects (Underground Cables/Overhead Lines). You will handle contract administration, payments, risk management, budget reporting and cost forecasting, with regular site involvement.

The role requires 2–5 years in a similar position, strong numerical skills, and proficiency with NEC contracts.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying, business or a related commercial field.
• Proficiency in cost systems and Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent diligence and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and people skills.
• Enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrate safety, integrity and ethics at all times.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
• 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in similar industries, and/or NEC form of Contracting desirable.
• Hybrid Working.

Responsibilities

• Contract administration in line with NEC 3/4 (Options A, B, C & E) or other client terms.
• Subcontractor award and administration.
• Application for payments for both client and subcontractors.
• Forecasting and performance tracking for both client and subcontractors.
• Project risk management including managing risk/contingency allowances.
• Regular site visits for contract and subcontract administration.
• Identify, notify and manage early warnings, compensation events and variations.
• Deliver accurate and timely budget, cost and change reporting.
• Understand and interpret the project estimate and programme of works.
• Develop and manage monthly cost reports, CVR, end-life forecasting and month-end accruals.
• Cost forecasting, cashflow, debtors analysis and cost control.
• Monthly presentation of project reporting focusing on performance.
• Support the Project Manager and regional Commercial Manager.
