Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a flagship infrastructure project in Whitehaven, Cumbria. You will lead commercial activity across procurement, cost control and final accounts, managing subcontractor performance and reporting to the commercial leadership.

The role requires NEC contract experience, strong cost reporting skills, and the ability to collaborate with project teams and clients. A degree in QS and security clearance are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract management and commercial administration.
• Experience preparing cost reports, forecasts and commercial reporting.
• Excellent understanding of NEC contracts (or other standard forms of contract).
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with project teams and clients.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience).
• Able to obtain, or currently hold, the appropriate security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Commercial Management across major infrastructure projects from procurement to final account.
• Administer subcontract packages including valuations, payments, variations and change management.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts and commercial submissions.
• Support applications for payment and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial procedures.
• Manage subcontractor accounts and contractual correspondence.
• Support change control and compensation events.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation.
