Job summary

Morson Edge in Whitehaven is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of a major infrastructure programme in West Cumbria. You will manage procurement, contract administration, and financial governance, ensuring value, risk control and compliant reporting across the project lifecycle.

Candidates should be experienced in NEC contracts, lead a commercial team, and work with project managers and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontract administration.
• Proven ability to manage cost reporting and financial governance.
• Leadership experience mentoring junior commercial staff.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of major infrastructure projects from procurement to final account.
• Administer subcontract packages, valuations, payments, variations and change management.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial performance; prepare cost reports.
• Support applications for payment and financial reporting; ensure governance.
• Lead and mentor Assistant Quantity Surveyors and junior staff.
