Job summary

A leading civil engineering contractor in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage major civils and structural works in Cumbria. The role involves handling commercial responsibilities across projects with a hybrid working model—three days on-site and two days remote. Ideal candidates should have proven experience in civil engineering, strong cost reporting, and a CSCS card, with a competitive salary range of £55,000 to £75,000 per annum on offer.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in delivering major civils and/or structural works.
• CSCS card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage applications for payment and interim valuations.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and project budgets.
• Produce commercial performance reports and CVRs.
• Oversee variations and change control processes.
• Mentor junior commercial team members.

Skills

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor

Strong commercial management

Cost reporting experience

Knowledge of NEC contracts

Proactive management skills

Education

Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification
