Job summary

A leading civil engineering contractor in the United Kingdom seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join their team delivering major civils and structural works. Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence is required.

Quantity Surveyor – Major Civils & Structures

Enable Resourcing is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major civils and structural works in Seascale, Cumbria.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your commercial career on complex infrastructure and structural projects within a well‑established delivery team.

You will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of major project packages, ensuring works are delivered in line with budget and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As Quantity Surveyor, you will support commercial activities from pre‑construction through to completion and final account. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Measurement and valuation of works
  • Preparation of applications for payment
  • Assessment of subcontractor accounts
  • Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting and CVR preparation
  • Managing variations and supporting change control processes
  • Supporting procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks
  • Maintaining commercial documentation and records
  • Assisting with subcontractor and client negotiations
  • Supporting final account preparation and agreement

You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Site Teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and commercial control across projects.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction
  • Exposure to major civils or structural projects (desirable)
  • Strong numerical and commercial awareness
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, organised and detail‑focused approach
  • Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification
  • CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
