Job summary

UK Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for high-value construction and fit-out projects across the UK. The role involves full commercial responsibility from pre-construction to final account, working with project teams, clients and subcontractors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction or fit-out, experience with M&E-heavy projects, and robust procurement and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong construction and/or fit-out background.
• Experience working on M&E-heavy projects.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts.
• Strong procurement and negotiation skills.
• Experience with valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent cost control and forecasting ability.
• Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The confidence to take ownership of commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
• Manage project budgets, costs and forecasts.
• Prepare and manage valuations, applications and payments.
• Manage variations, change control and commercial risk.
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor project costs against budget.
• Produce accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Work closely with Project Managers and site teams.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
